Three-time SAFTA nominated actor Sivuyile (Siv) Ngesi has joined in on the fun to take on the Dance of Brave challenge. Siv started his journey in the entertainment industry young – at the tender age of 9-years-old he played the role of Gavroche in Les Miserables and got to tour Asia with the show as well as sing a piece of the musical at the late and great Nelson Mandela’s birthday party. Since then, Siv had managed to ascend in the industry as a star with grace.
As for what bravery means to Siv, this is what he had to say...
When I was a kid, I would've thought 'brave' was Superman or Wonder Woman or someone flying in and jumping into a fire... But then you realise that when you really narrow it down that sometimes being vulnerable is brave. Being uncomfortable is brave. Being a single woman trying to feed your family is brave. And I think, for me, bravery is just multifaceted. I think South Africans are brave and I think we've gone through a difficult time and we're a brave, resilient country.
