Captain Mike and Nikki

"We are Mike (Swiss) and Nikki (SA) who live full-time on our yacht and do not have access to TV news or newspapers. The first thing we do every morning is read News24 on our laptops, our day would not start in the same way without it. We love all the different writing styles, humour, and common sense shared by all the writers/editors. We are currently in the Langebaan Lagoon and planning to head off into the Indian Ocean early in 2024. We spent 6 months as skippers in Greece last year which has ignited our urge to explore all 7 oceans while we still have some agility and sight! Thank you for adding to our day in such an insightful and interesting way."

Martin Schoeman

"I served in many Executive and Senior Management roles in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. I was appointed as the Managing Director of Pupkewitz MegaBuild in October 2023."

"I am Elizabeth Hector. I am a single mom to an amazing 13-year-old boy. I suddenly lost my dad last year and my mom in 2019. I work for Mediclinic as an Executive Secretary. I love to read, be out in nature, listen to music, watch rugby and I love life."

Fred Roed

"I am a South African-born son of immigrants to this country. I subscribe to News24 to keep abreast of developments within the SA business sphere, and the environment within which it operates. I'm a believer in entrepreneurs. South Africa has many challenges. Entrepreneurs can turn those challenges into solutions - and do it faster and more efficiently than any other sector in South Africa. I founded Heavy Chef to inspire and empower South Africa's entrepreneurs, and provide a platform whereby they can consume learning content together with peers of other inspiring business owners. The name Heavy Chef comes from the saying 'never trust a skinny chef', and we offer short courses (recipes) for entrepreneurs. In a world of talkers, I believe it's the doers that change it."

Melinda du Toit

"I have a PhD in Psychology and specialise in community psychology, with a particular interest in children's cognitive functioning and learning. I am a dedicated behavioural scientist with 15 years of experience in community psychology work and 12 years of experience as a lecturer in various tertiary education settings. My doctoral research focused on the experiences of marginalised youth in South Africa who were unemployed. Currently, my primary focus is providing support to primary school students, especially those who face challenges in the South African education system. Through my private practice in Johannesburg, I help children understand their learning processes and how their brains work. In addition, I volunteer in Orange Farm township, offering psycho-social support and coaching to community members."

Ndivhuwo Enslie Masindi

"I subscribe because I want to keep up-to-date with the latest news and developments."

Prof Bill Richards

"I am a 77-year-old genuine Cockney born in West Ham after the war – so I am also a Baby Boomer and sadly a lifelong West Ham United supporter. I came to South Africa in 1984 to work as Director of Scientific Services for Umgeni Water and subsequently married a beautiful South African divorcee with three children – all of which have grown up with children of their own and have very successful careers. I have two children from my first marriage both having children of their own. My UCT PhD son is working for Sasol in Louisiana and my daughter lives with her family in Putney, London. After 20 years faithful and highly successful service I was illegally retrenched (successfully proven so in the Durban Labour Court) and was headhunted to be a Professor of water science at the University of South Australia in Adelaide. However my wife hated living in Australia and pined for her family and home in South Africa.  So I took early retirement and we returned to South Africa, built a lovely big home in the Simbithi estate in Ballito before down sizing and moving to the Clara Anna Fontein estate in Durbanville where we are both very happy."

Prof Bill subscribes to News24 because it provides unbiased news of what is happening in South Africa and has uncovered hundreds of unfortunate activities by those in power. He takes pride in supporting and helping to keep amazing investigative reporters gainfully employed.

"Keep up the good work!"

John Bransby

"I am a retired Science teacher and principal of the school that was rated the top academic school in South Africa by the Sunday Times in January 2000 - Theodor Herzl High School in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) which achieved 25 successive years of 100% pass rate and 25 successive years of 100% Bachelor pass rate – meaning that every learner passing through that school in those 25 years qualified to go to university! Amazing! I have been the National Matric Physics examiner for SA and have written and published many textbooks, study and teaching aids in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. These days I provide free, sponsored teaching and learning tutorials from our online free website for Grades 4 – 12 Maths and Grade 8 – 12 Sciences. The website is zero rated for data usage by the DBE and has 4 000 teachers and 20 000 learners from 3 000 schools using our lessons regularly! See our website at: www.mathsandsciencelessons.com."
