If you’re in business, then you need to listen to this.

Join four esteemed speakers as they give their take into whether South Africa is on track with its climate change goals, and what SA businesses can expect in 2024.

Welcome to the Talking Green Webinar - first-class insights into all things ‘business sustainability’ in partnership with Nedbank Commercial Banking.

As part of the panel, energy and climate science journalist Nick Hedley, Nedbank’s Head of Sustainability Mark Boshoff and GreenCape Communications Officer Thula Zondi dive into the challenges and current solutions of the sustainability transition, as well as where we are now and where we are going.

Together with host Nozipho Tshablala, the panel also provides handy tips for the business community and industry at large to consider around both the risks - but also the opportunities - of the green energy revolution.

For Boshoff, the question of whether businesses should consider their sustainability and their own continuity can be summed up in one word: survival.

“That is the biggest incentive. Climate resilience has become one of the biggest risks that businesspeople must take into account when they are designing their business,” says Boshoff.

Be it crops being at risk, flights being cancelled, supply chain routes being disrupted, or customers’ refusing to shop with brands behind the curve, embracing sustainability is now all about business continuity.

“Initially, there was very little knowledge and limited solutions, but we have also made good progress,” says Boshoff. “A wealth of knowledge has been built up, as well as the range of solutions. Every day we hear something new. I heard the other day about solar panels in your windowpanes.”

WATCH Boshoff, Zondi, Hedley and Tshabalala in the Talking Green Webinar above for all first-class insights into these issues and what it means for South Africa and businesses going into 2024.
