How to bring the
pet parlour home
Treat your furry friend this festive season
After the year we had, we're all looking to kick off the summertime festive season with some much-needed pampering.
As we plan our own spa days, it’s important to remember to treat our canine and feline friends to the same.
From indulging them with a rejuvenating bath under the summer sun to massaging 2020 out of their weary paws, here are four steps to pampering your pet from the comfort of your home:
Start the day off with some fresh air
What better way to start pampering your pooch or pet than with some outdoor playtime? Whether it’s taking a stroll around your neighbourhood or playing with them and their favourite toy, some fun in the sun is the best thing to get your furry friend feeling jovial and energised.
Suds up with an outdoor bath
After starting the day with play, your pet will be ready for a refreshing bath. Fill a kiddie pool or a large container with warm water and a gentle tick and flea shampoo. Regular bathing will also help keep them free of pests, especially in the December and January heat. Setting up a bath outside also helps minimise the indoor mess, while treating your pet to a luxurious sunbathing experience.
Massage and brush away the 2020 stress
Help your pet dry off after their bath by grabbing your pet brush. Investing in a fine-tooth comb or brush can help weasel out stubborn knots and can help prevent your pet’s fur from matting. All you have to do is brush their coat when they are fresh out of the bath. It’ll also be a massaging experience for your pet and help to relieve any skin irritants that might have been stuck under their fur. You can even extend the massaging experience by adding in a paw, shoulder, and head massage in to help them have the full parlour experience.
Wrap it up with a gentle mani-pedi
To tie a bow on a day of pampering, why not opt for a quick mani-pedi? Did you know it’s important to keep your pet’s paws hydrated? A pet-friendly paw cream can help prevent cracks and damage to their delicate paw skin. If you’re not up for the task of clipping their nails, you can gently file the edges down to reduce the risk of them scratching themselves, and to give them a comfortable trot.
Bonus! Hire a mobile parlour
And, of course, if all else fails, you could call in the professionals for an at-home pampering experience for your furry friend. There are parlour services that offer home visits, where they bring a washing, trimming, and pamper station to the comfort of your home.
