Bombay Sapphire has partnered with award-winning film director Baz Luhrmann on a campaign titled ‘Saw This, Made This’ with a mission to inspire people to discover the creative inspiration that exists all around them

Creativity - an industry which was estimated to be worth $985 billion by 2023 - has the power to innovate and create new worlds. But most importantly, it has the power to enrich your life and make you happier.

A 2023 research study from the Adobe Foundation and NAMI found that 61% of people said that creative activities reduce their feelings of stress or anxiety

Despite data proving that creativity is beneficial to subjective well-being, sometimes life gets in the way. But the inspiration to tap into the reckless abandon we had as children is actually all around us.

To help the world stir its inner creativity, Bombay Sapphire is on a mission to inspire people to discover the creativity and beauty that exists all around them. The brand recently partnered with award-winning film director Baz Luhrmann in a new campaign, titled ‘Saw This, Made This’.

"I truly believe creativity lies within us all. The aim of the Bombay Sapphire 'Saw This, Made This' campaign is to show people that creative inspiration exists all around them," says Luhrmann. "Thousands of people have shared the things that have sparked their own creativity - and the results have been extraordinary."

#SawThisMadeThis

Using the hashtag #SawThisMadeThis, Bombay Sapphire and Luhrmann are inviting everyone to participate in a worldwide creative showcase by sharing the creative inspiration they encounter every day along with the creative output that results.

World Creativity and Innovation Day is a global UN day celebrated on April 21 to raise awareness around the importance of creativity and innovation in problem solving with respect to advancing the UN's sustainable development goals.

"My aim as Creative Director of this campaign has always been to encourage people to see the world as a gallery and unlock a creative part of themselves that they may not have been aware of," says Luhrmann. "I'm genuinely excited that on World Creativity Day we are bringing this global outpouring of creativity, shining light on individuals and their expression, reinterpreting it in a truly original way."

This year, Bartenders and Creatives from South Africa will be using their imaginations to create distinctive Bombay Sapphire "Made This" drinks, food, artwork and music by drawing inspiration from their towns.

Showcasing South Africa's creativity

South Africa is home to a cultural melting pot of creativity. To highlight this Bombay Sapphire has paired five talented creators from diverse backgrounds with mixologists to create five distinct cocktails that are not only inspired by the work they do, but also embodies the 5 senses that elevate the creative process.
