Minimum Requirements |
MINIMUM: • Grade 12 • Completed recognised Trade Test as an Electrician • Certificate in high voltage operations (switching, phasing, fault finding and safety) • Valid ORHVS Certificate • 5-years relevant experience • Code C1 drivers licence with valid PrDP OTHER: • Certified for Hydraulic Crane Operations • Ability to handle hydraulic lifting and pneumatic, high voltage pressure testing and cable fault finding equipment • Supervisory skills • Proficiency in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa) • Human relations and communication skills • Ability to give attention to detail • High level of responsibility • Ability to work under pressure without tolerance for errors. |

Key Performance Areas |
• Coordinate activities and sequences associated with the maintenance of the power network systems and electrical supply • Perform duties associated with the installation of high/medium/low voltage electrical networks • Coordinates activities associated with the construction and installations of electrical distribution networks • Perform, coordinate and supervise specific pre-work and site requirements activities and sequences associated with installations, repairs, planned and predictive maintenance sequences • Interprets and co-ordinates specific activities with regards to electrical repairs, planned and predictive maintenance sequences and guides the activities of electrical assistant personnel • Complete internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log- sheets, progress and productivity field report, etc.) • Perform specific tasks associated with the operation of heavy or specialised vehicles and equipment • Interacts with contractors, public and suppliers • Interprets and co-ordinates specific activities with regards to electrical repairs, planned and predictive maintenance sequences and guides the activities of electrical assistance personnel • Performs specific administrative tasks/activities associated with the updating and maintaining of records • Perform standby duties on a schedule basis • Must be willing to rotate between the subsections within the Department • Adhere to functions in terms of the OHS Act 85 of 1993 and regulations. |

R319 857.04 – R415 194.83 (subject to evaluation) (Plus benefits) In addition to the abovementioned salary, these positions offer competitive benefits which include a 13th cheque, medical aid, pension, housing subsidy/allowance and removal costs under certain conditions. |
