Job Purpose

To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic and research objectives which include: teaching according to a set syllabus; undertake research and innovation; contribute to curriculum development and design; engage in work integrated learning, Open Day to recruit students, and service learning activities.

Minimum Requirements

A Master’s Degree in Information Technology/ Information & Communication Technology/Computer Science or related qualifications

At least two (2) years’ relevant Lecturing experience

Recommendation

The candidate must show expertise in Applications Development:

Programming Paradigms and Languages (Modern programming languages like: Java, Python, PHP, R, C++, C#), Data Storage

Technologies like DBMS and NoSQL, Backend Development Technologies in Big Data and AI environment, Software

Build tools like Maven, Gradle, Ivy or any other

Relevant Industry Experience

Exposure to Program and Curriculum Development

At least One (1) publication in an accredited journal or conference proceedings

Lectures subjects within the field of Information and Communication Technology

Participate in curriculum development

Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department

Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department

Participate in research: supervision and undergraduate research projects

Contribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum.

Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on co-operative education, new techniques/technologies and research projects

Assist with marketing and recruitment activities

Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
