Minimum Requirements

Note: ECD service provider will only be eligible for funding if the service meets the following requirements.

1.    The ECD center MUST BE registered in terms of the Children’s Act as a Partial Care service and ECD pro- gramme

2.    The Governing body must at least comprise of 5 or more people (Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Treasurer) who are unrelated. The Governing Body for the funding purpose means those in charge with governance in an ECD Centre and who will accept the fiduciary responsibility to ensure compliance;

3.    The ECD operation must be based in Gauteng Province.

4.    All proposals for funding must be within Education mandate and be done using the Department’s application forms (Business Plan). All sections of the application form must be fully and comprehensively completed with all required attachments.

5.    As per the application forms - clear targets, outputs, outcomes and intended impact must be reflected in funding applications, which must be aligned to the Mandate of the Department.

6.    Submission of proposals does not guarantee approval of funding as it is subject to availability of Departmental budget.

7.    Prior funding application the ECD Centre should be registered in terms of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005 with Gauteng Department of Education.
