Minimum Requirements

The chairperson of the quality assurance panel must:

· Have knowledge and experience in relation to diversion and children’s issues pertaining to children in conflict with the law

· Must be a behavioural science expert and have background in social science research and or therapeutic program design, development, monitoring and evaluation

· Have knowledge of the Child Justice Act, 75 of 2008

Recommendation

Note:  Retired professionals in the field of behavioural science, social science and education who meet the requirements are also encouraged to apply

Key Performance Areas

The main functions of the quality assurance chairperson will include among others, the following:

· Lead quality assurance panel sittings and site visits to diversion service providers

· Monitor and evaluate diversion service providers and programmes ensuring compliance to the Minimum Norms and Standards for Diversion as well as the Policy Framework for Accreditation of Diversion Services in South Africa

· Capacity building of diversion service providers

· Making recommendations to the accreditation committee on the findings of the Quality Assurance Panel

· Liaise with the Provincial Coordinator on all Quality Assurance activities
