Job Purpose

Direct, lead, manage and ensure a dedicated focus on one of the core service delivery mandates of the municipality, with an emphasis on utility modernisation and reform for the purpose of delivering a sustainable and resilient waste management service that delivers improved quality of life for all residents and an enabling environment for economic growth and job creation.

Minimum Requirements

• A postgraduate qualification at an NQF level 8 applicable and relevant to the functional focus of the position, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/BTech in Engineering or equivalent

• At least 5 (five) years’ experience at a senior managerial level including managing a large and diverse environment with +/- 4 000 staff complement.

• Demonstrated capacity for exceptional leadership ability with capacity for innovation related to the large and diverse portfolio, and an influential and collaborative approach to leadership.

• Exceptional leadership ability with a highly innovative, influential and collaborative approach to leadership.

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of relevant policy and legislation relevant to Urban Waste Management, including institutional governance systems and performance management.

• Budgetary and financial management.

•Portfolio, Programme and Project management.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder and relationship building skills.

• Completed the MFMA minimum competency training or will be expected to achieve such within 18 months after appointment.

• Appointment will be subjected to security vetting.

Salary: Annual package commencing from R2 148 405 per annum
