The appointment of any member to Council and Council committees is subject to a verification process, such as checks on criminal record, financial records, reference checks and qualifications verification. All recommended candidates for Council and Council Committee positions shall be required to complete a verification consent form. Applications/nominations received after the closing date will not be considered. How to apply:
The nominations must come from recognised labour organisations, in writing, and must be accompanied by the following documentation:
- Detailed and recent Curriculum Vitae of the member, including the following information: work experience and responsibilities; relevant postgraduate qualification and area of expertise; list of current Board experience/ directorships with reference to dates/ and organisations/entities/institutions concerned;
- Motivation letter, wherein it is explained why the person is nominated;
- Names and contact details of three (3) referees;
- Certified copies of qualifications and identity document or passport (all documents must have been certified and dated within the last six (6) months); and
- Declaration by the nominee that no conflict of interest exists with the University (declaration to include information as to whether the nominee belongs to any professional body, and whether he/she has a criminal record or not).
Incomplete nominations will not be accepted.
All nominations by recognised organised labour in the Republic of South Africa must be sent via email with the subject line:
