Applicants must submit a comprehensive cover letter confirming (amongst other
a) Whether or not the applicant has a criminal record;
b) Whether or not the applicant has ever been disqualified, placed on probation; or declared
a delinquent Director in accordance with the prescripts of the Companies Act. 71 of 2008;

c) Details of any default judgements or legal proceedings instituted by or against the applicant
in the last 5 years (including disciplinary proceedings initiated by a current or former
employer);
d) A declaration by the candidate confirming that he/she is qualified and eligible to serve on
the Board of Directors for CEF and its Subsidiaries.
e) Disclosure of current and/or potential interests in contracts, shareholding or influence in all
registered entities (including those in the energy, mining and exploration sector); and
f) Any other pertinent information that may be of assistance in considering the application.

The period of office shall be three (3) years effective from date of appointment subject to the
discretion of Central Energy Fund and/or the Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources
Each application in addition to the aforementioned cover letter must be in writing and must be
accompanied by the following:
• Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae of the candidate (not exceeding 5 pages);
• Certified copies of qualifications and Identity document not older than three months.
